Up To Kokomo Toys!

Well I had a pretty rough week last week, but I figured I could make it a good one by heading up to Kokomo Toys in Kokomo Indiana! I'll preface this post by saying that if you are ANYWHERE near the Indiana area, you have to make a trip there. Even if it's just too look around, it really is a sight to behold. Every imaginable GI Joe aircraft is hanging above your head in an amazing battle scene. The figure selection is awesome, everything from loose to carded figures, filecards, and my personal favorite; the parts. Again, if you have the means to get there, get there some weekend.

As I've posted before, the Eco Warriors are my favorite sub-team and the Eco Striker is one of my favorite vehicles so I picked up a really mint box for mine. I also needed some more Crimson Guards to put with my C.A.T. and SMS so I bought two more. Then the best part; they took my "Parts Wanted" list and went on an all out search to find everything they could on my list. I completed something like 7 figures I had sitting around.

Also, I picked up the two 'would-be' Eco Warriors, v2 Outback and Blizzard. I got them both carded, just didn't feel like loading them up with accessories for their pictures.

Another Great Time At CTS!

Heather and I made it back safely from the Columbus Toy Show put on by CTSpromotions.com with a bunch of great stuff! My favorite obviously being the Sears C.A.T. (pictured), and man it is just about flawless. I'm going to replace maybe three decals and then it will look brand new, but even until then it's in amazing shape. I haven't tested it to see if it works yet, but that's nothing I care about too much, so it can wait. It also pretty well completed my main display shelf, as it is now perched perfectly next to my SMS that I picked up a few months ago. I'm going to try and pick up a few more Crimson Guard figures to put around them, but that's just details.

I also picked up an Eco Striker and Septic Tank to use as a backdrop for my Eco Force figures, as well as a MISB Steel Brigade figure (ver. D). Other figures were Jinx, Laser Viper, Crazylegs, Hardball, a HISS driver, and Lowlight. Also found a decent mound of old paperwork that had some old posters, fliers, and mail-away order forms.

There was also a guy selling SDCC exclusives there, and I got a really sweet Cobra Industries ID badge, keychain, and deck of cards.

The Columbus show is by far my favorite I've been to. Heather and I have gone twice now, and we've both enjoyed ourselves well beyond the $5 admission. The people in costume are always entertaining, and there's something to be said about the fact that it's almost 100% figures. It's not flooded with Hotwheels, Nascar, or farm crap collectors like the Hara show always seems to be. It's certainly worth the three hour drive, and we make a nice day out of it. Can't wait for the next one!

Up next is KokomoCon, the first convention of it's kind for around here so I'm anxious to see hot it turns out. For more information check www.KokomoCon.com There's already a few artists booked, and I'm sure Kokomo Toys will be there as well!

Be sure to check out the pictures of my latest hauls on Photobucket! You can either click the links at the right of the page, or click the picture of the C.A.T. on the top of this post!

P.S. The Eco-Striker is missing it's engine and it's engine cover. I would REALLY like to find both of these pieces, if you have either of them I WANT THEM! Take a look at my trade list to see if there's anything you want there (I'll be very generous for these parts), or email me at hardataq@gmail.com with a price you'd like for them + shipping. Thanks!

New Stuff From Indy Meet!

Alright, I said I was done getting good stuff for a while, but I couldn't help myself. I picked up some REALLY nice stuff at the COIL club meet from a few people. The two biggest purchases being the Gold Head Steel Brigade figure, and the Cobra SMS vehicle set. I also picked up a Snow Cat, some Ozone figures, and a carded Funskool Deep Six figure.

I'm ditching my Flickr account here shortly. I never liked Flickr anyway, and now they're telling me I have to pay for it. Not happening. I'll stick with Photobucket. Anyway, check out the new pictures!

Get Them To The Gulf!

Well the wedding went off without too much trouble, and the honeymoon was a blast! I found a complete lot of Eco Warriors on eBay right before we left and they were in by the time I got back. They're all complete, but I left some of their pieces out for the pictures because they'd fall over.

I REALLY like this subteam, the colors and accessories are all very bright and cool looking. Ozone is one of my new favorite figures, his whole suit is awesome. I've never been into customs before, but I'm going to try and get another one and make a Night Force Ozone or something.

Make sure you check out my want/have lists on the right side of the page, as well as the new pics of the Cobra/Joe Eco Warriors!

A Little Update!

Just a quick update before we leave on vacation! I had a tote full of old Boba/Jango Fett stuff from a few years ago that I just had sitting around, and wound up trading a friend of mine straight up for some Joes! I got some pretty cool ones for myself, as well as some nice figures to bolster my trade list. There are 8 or so more figures that still need one or two accessories, but I didn't want to put up pics of them incomplete.

I'm going to link to my trade list as well as my want list over on the right side of the page under my Joe Stats, so give those a look and see if we can't help each other out. I'll also try and get pictures up of all the stuff I have to trade when we get back.

I'm in the process of actively pursuing a small lot of figures, but it's a whole sub-team. It would be really cool to knock the whole team out in one shot, so I'll probably wind up overspending, especially given how common most of the figures are. It still seems worth it to me though, paying a little extra to get them all at once is fine with me.

Anyway, new pics up in the Photobucket and Flickr galleries! Check 'em out! See everyone after the honeymoon!

Terror Drome!

What's that weird dome down there sticking out of Cobra Island? Well, if Cobra Island is my house (and I'm fairly certain it may be) then that dome is none other than the Cobra Terror Drome! I went to Ohio a few days earlier than planned and picked it up last night, as well as a few other pieces. It's completely complete, and it's in amazing shape. It took a little elbow grease, a lot of Goo Gone, and about 4 1/2 hours to get it looking tip-top but it was time well spent I'd say. I'm going to slap some new decals on it when I order my new USS Flagg decals, and it will look straight out of the box when it's finished. It also has its Firebat and A.V.A.C. with a mint 'chute.

I also picked up a Conquest X-30 with it's box, Destro's Despoiler, Serpentor's Air Chariot, Crankcase, Iron Grenadier, Slice, Dice, Night Creeper, Lampreys, A.V.A.C., W.O.R.M.S., and a Star-Viper!

That's probably it for big stuff for quite a few months. The wedding is now less than 30 days away, and then we've got the honeymoon, then we're moving. There's no way I'm going to attempt re-doing the Flagg until after the move, and money is about to get way tighter around here, but I'll still try and pick up a Joe or so a week on eBay/forums/etc. I'll keep the site updated as much as I can.

Yo Joe!

Just got a couple boxes of eBay victories in the mail within the last couple days, bringing me ever closer to completing wave 4 (1985). I picked up a Eels, Tollbooth, Dialtone, Sgt. Slaughter, Footloose, Airborne, and Gung Ho. The best deal was the Eels I got for $7. Thanks, bid sniper. :)

Once my check comes in, I'm off to Ohio to pick up some finishing pieces for the USS Flagg as well as picking up another...larger...playset...that shall remain nameless until I can get some decent pictures of it, and have it in hand.

In other news, the wedding is almost here! I'm getting pretty excited, but I'm also nervous that some minor detail is going to get left out and screw up the whole day, or someone is going to get drunk and fuck the reception up, or a whole slew of other possibilities. I just can't wait for the whole thing to be done with, and be back from our honeymoon and on with our normal lives.

Anyway, check out the new pictures uploaded on my Flickr and Photobucket accounts, linked on the right of the page!
